This may be the course for you!
Teaching someone is such an important life skill and can be a extremely rewarding career. Training is normally spread over four weeks .
A person wishing to undertake this course should have a good transport industry background in driving heavy vehicles, although it is not essential for the trainee to have this knowledge. The content of this course requires that the trainee should demonstrate a thorough understanding in the type of vehicle that he/she wishes to train, a knowledge of Fatigue Management in heavy vehicles, a good knowledge of heavy vehicle guidelines and regulations.
PRACTICAL TRAINING
Your training is conducted by some of our current Driver Trainers who also hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
The practical training is competency based and you will progress at your own pace, however 30 hours in heavy vehicle training will be allocated to this component and will include assessing your driving skills and your knowledge of road rules, loading, unloading & load restraint, pre-operational inspections and your ability to train a learner driver in a heavy vehicle. All our heavy vehicles are equipped with an additional brake pedal for the trainer and also equipped with an additional seat for an observer. You will witness several hours of tuition with fee paying students.
The training is flexible and can be organised around you current schedule. Your trainer becomes your coach and is then available for ongoing training as required.
THEORY
