TLIC41207 Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics
(Road Transport - Car Driving Instruction)
 
 
This may be the course for you!

Teaching someone such an important life skill can be extremely rewarding career. Training is normally spread over four weeks and includes the following main components.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

Your training is conducted by some of our current Driver Trainers who also hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

The practical training is competency based and you will progress at your own pace, however 40 hours in car training will be allocated to this component and will include assessing your driving skills and your knowledge of road rules. You will also witness several hours of tuition with fee paying students.

The training is flexible and can be organised around you current schedule. Your trainer becomes your coach and is then available for ongoing training as required.

THEORY

The theory component of your course is conducted in a classroom situation with self paced assignments and presentations to be completed.

This component is also competency based and on an average takes approximately two weeks to complete. The process can be quicker or longer depending on your ability and time you have available.

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

  •  You must hold a current open licence for a minimum of 1 year for the classes you intend to teach
  • Under go a Police history check, a driving history check & a medical check (if required). These checks are completed by Queensland Transport
  • Hold a Positive Blue Notice (Blue Card) for child related employment
  • Undertake TLI41207 Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport - Car Driving Instruction) Course by a Registered RTO.
  • Obtain an accreditationfor driver trainer from Queensland Transport
  • Supply your own suitable late model vehicle that can have dual controls installed - we provide advice and access to all relevant information

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
 
Orbit Training has an RPL process for recognising prior learning or current competencies. This process involves the trainee to provide evidence that he/she is competent in the units above or even any performance criteria within those units, from previous courses. This evidence will be taken into account by the assessor for Recognition of Prior Learning. Details of this evidence can be found in the Student Information Booklet.
